Our Year 2025 – The Capricorn Music Annual Review

2025 was an intense and diverse year for Capricorn Music. We had the opportunity to accompany and realise many exciting projects, ranging from music productions and film sound to audiobooks, mixing and mastering, as well as new creative collaborations. This review offers an overview of some particularly memorable moments from our year.
A major part of our work once again focused on music production. Many tracks and albums were completed entirely in the studio, from the first recording sessions to the final mix and master. With Wendezeit [Turning Point] by Maria Ma, an album was released that was produced completely in-house and published on CD, vinyl and digital platforms.Julie Marie’s single Mama [Mom] was also created in our studio and released on our own label. Live sessions including audio and video production were realised for The Gentleman. The children’s musical Ein Fagott verschwindet [A Bassoon Goes Missing] was produced with studio recordings, mixing and full audio for the accompanying video. Further music productions included Da Schnee [The Snow] for Niki, as well as the song Herr Mayr for Leuchtkraft.
"Wendezeit", the latest album by Maria Ma, Julie Marie's new single "Mama" and the audio book "Eleonora" were all published on our label in 2025.
In the field of film and television, we were involved in several special projects in 2025. The fourth and final season of Österreich – Die ganze Geschichte [Austria – The Complete History] will be broadcast on ORF III starting on 28 December. The music for this season was produced entirely at Capricorn Music and is also available digitally as an album. For the news programme ORF III Aktuell [ORF III Current Affairs], I also had the opportunity to develop the new sound design. We handled the complete audio production for the documentary Francesca by Manuel Bogad. In another television documentary about Erzherzog Johann [Archduke Johann], music from our studio was used as well.
Throughout 2025, numerous artists entrusted us with their music for mixing and mastering. We completed the full mix and master for the album by Leelah Sky. In addition, we mixed and mastered tracks for Richard Palla, Jeffery Tung and LuiTomLinson, among others.
The area of audiobooks and audio drama also developed very dynamically. With Eleonora, the first audiobook fully produced at Capricorn Music was created. The recording spans more than fifteen hours and was a particularly special project, as the author Hubert Nowak is my father, who published his first novel with this work after several non-fiction books. For LauschMedia, we recorded the audiobook Die Farbe der Sterne [The Colour of the Stars]. The comedy audio drama for Rotary was continued with two seasons and a total of twenty episodes. The jingles for the series were also composed and produced in our studio.
Another important part of my work was the creative collaboration with Homebase Records and Christian Kolonovits. For the feature film Aufputzt is, I realised recording sessions, music editing and noumerous parts of the production of the title song Klingeling [Jingle Jingle]. As part of the Red Bull live show by Camo & Krooked, I was involved in pre-production work. For the accompanying audio drama to the book Luna Loy, I took care of the complete recording and mix. The song Leben Leben [Living Life] by Sylvia was recorded, mixed and mastered at our studio. Another special project was Passionsmusik Erl [Erl Passion Music] by Christian Kolonovits, for which we mastered the album and mixed the television version. My collaboration with Christian Kolonovits has now lasted for more than fourteen years, something that brings me great joy and for which I am very grateful.
Throughout the year, numerous new videos, studio reports and insights into our daily work were published on our YouTube channel. The variety of productions resulted in diverse content that offers an authentic look behind the scenes at Capricorn Music.
There was also an important change within the team. Since this year, Sonja has been supporting Capricorn Music in the area of social media, helping to make our productions and insights even more visible.
My team and I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the trust, collaboration and many inspiring projects throughout the past year. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to a creative year in 2026.
