The Morricones Present “Salvation” – Spaghetti Western Meets Americana
The five-piece band from Linz, Austria, takes listeners on a musical journey through a world of dusty desert landscapes, sweeping melodies, and cinematic soundscapes. Since October, the album has also been available on Capricorn Music as a Deluxe Edition featuring three additional songs.
What if Ennio Morricone were to form a band today? It might sound a little like The Morricones. The five musicians from Linz combine the unmistakable charm of Italian film scores with the atmosphere of the American West, creating a distinctive sound of their own.
With distinctive guitars, evocative violin melodies, driving rhythms, and a generous sense of musical adventure, The Morricones tell stories that bring cinematic images to life, even without a screen. At times melancholic and reflective, at others raw and energetic, their music is always driven by a keen sense of atmosphere and melody.
The Morricones’ Salvation, released on our label Capricorn Music, takes listeners on a musical journey through Spaghetti Westerns, Americana, and timeless film music. Alongside the original ten-track album, “Salvation (Deluxe Edition)” has been available since October, expanding the release with three additional songs. With a total of 13 tracks, the Deluxe Edition invites listeners to explore the distinctive musical world of The Morricones even further.
Five Musicians, One Distinctive Sound
The Morricones bring together five musicians whose diverse musical influences blend into a unique and unmistakable sound:
Wolf Jacobi – Vocals, Guitar
Chris Wiener – Vocals, Guitar
Thomas Schmatz – Bass, Double Bass
Marcus Wall – Violin, Electric Guitar
Franz Gelhart – Drums
Together, they create a musical world reminiscent of the great Spaghetti Western soundtracks, while offering much more than a tribute to their legendary musical inspiration.
The Morricones Live at Capricorn Music
Recently, The Morricones stopped by our studio in Vienna. We took the opportunity to keep the cameras rolling and capture a glimpse into the musical world of their new album. The result is a live studio performance of the title track “Salvation”, offering an authentic and intimate look at the band performing together, without elaborate staging or production.
