An Outstanding Jazz All-Star Line-up
Bop Explosion brings together outstanding musicians from Austria, Romania, Serbia and Hungary, forming an exceptional jazz ensemble with international appeal. Founded by Vienna-based pianist and composer Ioan-Petru Avram (aka Gerhard Schramke), the band combines selected jazz standards with his original compositions to create a versatile and distinctive sound.
At the heart of Bop Explosion are a shared joy of playing, virtuosic solos and the dynamic interplay of an outstanding line-up. Expressive vocals, distinctive horn voices and a powerful rhythm section give the band its unmistakable character – at times elegant and atmospheric, at others energetic and explosive.
With their album Simmering, the band presents a multifaceted programme that brings together the ensemble’s diverse musical personalities while leaving ample space for improvisation.
