From December 28, 2025, the fourth and final season of Österreich - die ganze Geschichte [Austria - The Complete History] will air on ORF III. The finale once again comprises 10 episodes, first broadcast around New Year’s Eve, and focuses on the period from 1955 onwards.
After more than three years, Austria’s largest history documentary series ever produced comes to its conclusion. The soundtrack remains available on all major music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

This large-scale project was made possible through collaboration on the highest level. Four seasons, four production companies – RAN Film (Season 1), Clever Contents (Season 2), Pammer Film (Season 3) and Neuland Film (Season 4) – together with the outstanding team at ORF III and numerous contributors in front of and behind the camera.
As in all previous seasons, the narrative is shaped by frequent entry points into the present day, helping to make historical contexts easier to understand and to draw connections to our lives today. This approach is complemented by numerous elaborately produced reenactments, which give the series its distinctly cinematic character.
This cinematic ambition is also reflected in the music: the original soundtrack, composed by Clemens Nowak and produced at Capricorn Music, combines live instruments and synthesizers into a cohesive, cinematic sonic language. The resulting album, featuring 27 tracks, accompanies the entire series musically – from historical retrospection to the present day.
